  • QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires the knowledge of journalistic writing style and interview techniques; English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; computers and word processing skills; possess knowledge and comfort with a wide range of computer software including Adobe Photoshop, Edilo, Adobe Illustrator, In-Design and web site creation/maintenance software; specialized and technical skills associated with a variety of photographic and videography methods and equipment.

    Knowledge of and ability to use broadcast quality video equipment to video and edit stories. Ability to work both collaboratively and independently to capture video/photos at various KHSD sites/locations so that content can be used in weekly KHSD newscasts, published on You Tube, KHSD websites, and social media when appropriate. Must be able to write and post engaging social media content; plan photographic layouts and video shoots for use in publicity materials; and interpret publicity needs to determine specific photographic/video methods and procedures needed. Must be able to create web graphic and page design for internal and external websites; videography and photography to support web print content; support the development of presentations, video, and multimedia assets. Must be able to schedule District office participation on District office Display case and take photographs for display case. .

    Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties; carry out verbal and written directions independently; write effectively; create, research and publish content in a variety mediums (Web, Twitter, newsletter, etc.); operate photographic/video equipment and the necessary programs to produce finished products as assigned; assess and determine appropriate equipment needs for assigned video/photography assignments.

    High School Diploma and at least two years of post-secondary education, preferably with coursework in marketing, business, communications, design, multimedia, web design and/or education. Additional qualifying work experience in marketing, business, communications, design, multimedia, or web development may be substituted for a portion of the required education on a year to year basis.

    A CRIMINAL HISTORY CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED OF SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE PRIOR TO EMPLOYMENT.

    DUTIES OF POSITION: Under direction of the department administrator, to perform a variety of written and oral communication tasks, to perform videography and photography for the District and to direct and participate in the development of presentations, video and multimedia assets. This job class works directly with employees throughout the District and with the public and requires a high level of communication and organizational skills as well as technical skill in video and photography creation and production.

    STARTING SALARY: $4,145.09 (monthly)

    NUMBER OF MONTHS: 12 (to begin as soon as possible)

    NUMBER OF HOURS: 8 (daily working hours to be 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
