Reporting to the Network Director of Special Education, the Tutor Corps Manager is responsible for the oversight of the 8th-9th grade Algebra tutoring program, including content development, supervision, and coaching of the Tutor Corps Fellows. The Tutor Corps Manager is responsible for ensuring tutoring sessions are properly planned, instruction is effective, and Tutor Corps Fellows receive the necessary support and tools to be successful in their role. The successful candidate will be driven to shape new college graduates into effective educators.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Key duties include direct supervision of Algebra tutors, tutorial content support or development, observation and feedback of tutoring sessions, and overseeing parent communication and weekly progress reports.

Ensure effective day-to-day operations of the tutoring program by:

• Directly supervising Tutor Corps members (approximately 12)
• Managing and supervising all aspects of tutoring sessions including devising schedules and providing curriculum support
• Working closely with members of the School Leadership Team to ensure that the tutoring program is meeting the needs of students by analyzing student growth and achievement data
• Continuously evaluating the tutoring program's effectiveness and efficiency and using this data to devise long-term strategies that lead to improvement of the program
• Overseeing all performance measures for Tutor Corps members including conducting mid-year and end-of-year evaluations as well as supervising the onboarding and exiting of members
• Collaborating with the Great Oaks Foundation to ensure compliance with the AmeriCorps grant for the Tutor Corps Fellows.

Support professional development of highly effective tutors by:

• Developing the content for the Tutor Corps orientation and ongoing professional development opportunities
• Ensuring all Fellows have the resources and structures they need to be successful
• Fostering high standards by observing, evaluating, and providing actionable feedback to tutors using rubrics and student achievement data analyses

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, required
• At least two years of experience working with youth in an academic setting, required
• Experience teaching or tutoring math (especially Algebra), strongly preferred
• Successful experience managing, supervising or professionally coaching early career professionals, preferably in a school or service setting, strongly preferred
• Excellent planning, entrepreneurial, management, and communication skills, with a proven ability to project manage
• Excellent skills of organization and follow-through
• Superb organizational and self-management skills and be able to handle multiple responsibilities effectively; have strong planning and execution skills; be a goal-oriented and effective problem-solver
• Exceptional relationship building skills and the ability to provide clear, consistent, and firm feedback in a positive manner
• Can-do mindset to positively impact the success of students to and through college
• Flexibility and willingness to complete the hard work at hand
• Strong entrepreneurial, leadership, and team-player skills
• Ability to analyze student growth and performance data and identify appropriate solutions
• Ability to respond well to and implement feedback immediately
