General Statement of Duties:
Closing Date: This position closes on Monday, October 4, 2021.
Provides a variety of treatment and/or prevention services to clients with a wide range of psychiatric, emotional, relational, substance abuse or social problems; may provide consultation and education services to specific populations; does related work as required.

Essential Duties:
Responsible for providing evaluations for existing clients throughout the agency including diagnostic testing, intellectual functioning and risk assessments; provide clinical mental health counseling to youth ages 4 thru 18; responsible for providing a wide range of referred evaluations; evaluations include intellectual functioning and diagnostic testing; experience with developmental disabilities; internal evaluations to include diagnostic and treatment recommendations and risk assessment; broad knowledge of mental health and substance use disorders with children, adolescents and adults is essential; experience assessing consumers with long-term mental illness, developmental and intellectual disability; ability to administer and interpret intellectual and personality test; excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work independently; experience providing consultation and training to the courts and agency staff; ability to demonstrate appropriate boundaries and to problem solve independently while understanding the basic symptoms of mental illness; effectively match appropriate intervention to client.

Considerable knowledge of principles of community mental health and/or intellectual disability and/or substance abuse; considerable knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts of normal and abnormal human behavior, personality development, family and group dynamics; considerable knowledge of and an ability to apply a variety of psychotherapeutic treatment techniques/modalities; adherence to basic ethics appropriate for a professional helping relationship; knowledge of mental health diagnoses, assessment, and/or psychological and educational testing; some knowledge of consultation program; considerable knowledge of psychosocial history development; very good interviewing and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to act with good judgment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a two (2)-year master's degree in clinical social work, psychology or a directly related field plus one (1) year of experience in a mental health setting [for a one-year degree, one(1) additional year of experience or an internship is required to replace the second year of formal training]; OR , a bachelor's degree in related field plus four (4) years of experience in a community mental health setting; OR , any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Additional Information:
This position requires a Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D) from an APA approved program and at least two (2) years of full-time youth psychology experience preferred.

TB test; A criminal history record check and fingerprinting is conducted on all persons conditionally offered employment, including a conditional offer of initial employment, or a conditional offer to promote, demote, or laterally transfer an employee.

Must be eligible for licensure as a licensed clinical psychologist within 12 months.
