   JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Licenses/Certifications Valid Georgia teaching certification required.
Education Bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree in related field preferred.
Skills Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently; ability to create and deliver professional learning that supports the direction of the Office of Social and Emotional Learning; strong communication skills, both in oral and written format; knowledge and application of research-based instructional strategies; ability to work successfully with colleagues; ability to project and generate a positive attitude; and ability to effect change.
Work Experience Three years of successful teaching or counseling experience required. Experience delivering professional learning opportunities, working across curriculum areas, and knowledge of SEL frameworks, programs and/or similar student development programs preferred.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY Responsible for professional learning development and delivery, data collection and evaluation, and various tasks that support the development, revision, and implementation of a cohesive social and emotional learning program to support overall student well-being and academic achievement.
JOB DUTIES 1. Develop and implement professional learning initiatives.
a. Develop professional learning plans consistent with philosophy, goals, objectives, and needs of the district and the Office of Social and Emotional Learning.
b. Provide professional learning to principals, assistant principals, department chairs, and other appropriate personnel.
c. Provide coaching support to teachers on the integration of SEL competencies and strategies with curriculum.

2. Develop strategies and tools designed to support the social and emotional well-being of all students.
a. Assist in the development of lesson plans, instructional calendars, extensions, and assessments for the social and emotional learning program.
b. Facilitate staff development initiatives.
c. Utilize data to identify strengths and areas of need in student learning and teacher support in social and emotional learning.
d. Work across curriculum areas to develop and support innovative approaches to student social and emotional well-being.

3. Support local schools in the district with the implementation of social and emotional strategies.
a. Provide support to Local School Plans for Improvement (LSPI) as applicable to social and emotional learning and student well-being.
b. Provide support and assistance to principals, assistant principals, department chairs, and other appropriate personnel who are creating and implementing SEL strategies and interventions.

4. Communicate to various internal and external audiences concerning program research and information regarding social and emotional learning.
a. Interpret district and program philosophy, goals, and objectives to various audiences.
b. Share information to appropriate personnel regarding current research, knowledge, and trends regarding social and emotional learning..
c. Develop and implement communication tools for cross-curriculum integration of SEL.

5. Provide student and teacher SEL support as identified in Gwinnett County Public Schools' strategic initiatives and priorities.
a. Manage and promote student SEL program and resources.
b. Model instruction in classrooms as appropriate.

6. Perform other duties as assigned.
