The Human Resources Team at New Visions strives to enable organizational success through the power of people. As an HR & Talent Acquisition Assistant, you will support the Talent Acquisition Team (TAT) with administrative duties that promote an engaging and seamless hiring experience. This includes scheduling interviews, assisting with sourcing responsibilities, managing job posts, tracking priority candidates, and other candidate communication and engagement efforts. In addition, you will support the Senior Compensation & Benefits Analyst with a variety of responsibilities related to maintaining a fair and equitable compensation structure for the organization. Finally, you will assist with tracking and consolidating employees' leave information to ensure it is in compliance with the Federal/State Leave regulations and company policies. Your work will directly ensure that our team is able to attract and retain extraordinary teachers and staff!

This role will be scheduled for 20-25 hours per week.

  • Support the TA Team in full cycle recruitment efforts, from sourcing to onboarding
  • Assist with scheduling interviews, including calendar management and candidate communications
  • Engage applicants as directed with care and enthusiasm to drive a best-in-class candidate experience
  • Support branding initiatives through social media posts, flyer creation and distribution, and other marketing assistance
  • Assist with compensation management projects and leave management work, such as document management, and employees' leave details tracking and consolidation
  • Support event preparation activities, including invitee communications, event setup and other logistics
  • Vet candidate certifications to ensure eligibility to be hired into a New Visions school
  • Assist with tracking and consolidating employee leave data
  • Manage job postings and invoices
  • Maintain candidate information in our applicant tracking system
  • Research sourcing strategies to find top-tier candidates
  • Coordinate and support on other HR projects as needed

Required Education and Experience:
  • HS Diploma required; some college preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in an office setting
  • Experience in education or recruitment preferred

Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of technology to manage work and communicate with others
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work products
  • High level of integrity, ethics and positive energy
  • Ability to learn quickly and willingness to take on new projects
  • Flexibility when faced with changing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Commitment to producing consistently high quality, detailed work

Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional non-standard hours and weekends required in support of hiring events

In 2019-20, graduation rates in our Charter and Affinity networks were 94.9% and 86.9% and our college readiness rates were 56.9% and 61.6%.

Additional Information

Our offices are currently remote but are making the move to hybrid work starting at the beginning of October. We will follow New York State's lead and require all staff to either be vaccinated or provide a weekly negative test. Our plans and policies may change as circumstances related to COVID-19 continue to evolve. Additional details will be shared if selected for an interview.
