Position Description

As a member of the Evaluation team, the Research Associate for Evaluation will be responsible for carrying out program evaluation activities that contribute to the evidence base for the organization, inform program development and strategy, and assess the organization’s progress towards its strategic goals.

The Research Associate for Evaluation will play a key role in supporting the success of the Evaluation team at a critical time in the organization’s history. While much is known from previous research about the effectiveness of Facing History’s program, many new questions have emerged as we develop new modes of online program delivery, a new school partnership model, and targeted approaches to promote educator mindsets and practices that foster equity.  The Evaluation team, therefore, has a significant mandate in providing new knowledge to inform the organization’s direction and support its growth. In order to maximize learning and insights that will inform organizational strategy and development, the Evaluation team interfaces with departments across the organization, including Program, Development, and Marketing & Communications, as well as Executive Directors of regional offices.

  • Support the organization in using knowledge from research to apply insights and guide strategy

  • Keep abreast of advances in relevant fields of education and implications for Facing History strategy; contribute knowledge to those fields through conference presentations and papers

  • Ensure staff development across the organization related to all of the above
