POSITION SUMMARY
: This position provides support for all aspects of the Business Office including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Budgeting and Grants, Accounting; and Choice and Enrollment support. This position will also provide support for the Executive Assistant and Chief Finance & Operations Officer as needed. Responsibilities require exemplary customer services skills as the position will interact with the community, parents and staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive.   1. Interface with all walk-up customers, serving as the first contact with the Business Office. Provide support or referrals to other department staff as needed.Provides support for facility rentals with the broader community in accordance with Administrative Policy 6112 which may include review and approval of Facility Use forms, collaboration with schools, athletic director, security and maintenance as needed to ensure satisfactory rental arrangements. Assemble related materials (evidence of coverage and timesheets) and calculate charges for invoicing.Receive and process payments for a variety of functions, including required background checks.Assist with the administration of the district's travel process, including the distribution of advance travel checks, travel procurement cards within policy and procedures 6213 and 6213P Ensure that all required travel paperwork has been returned to the Business Office after travel is completed, reviewing all claims for accuracy.Regularly support data input and verification for the timely and accurate production of payroll. Provide payroll assistance with absence and timesheet collation.Provide employee support for on-line registration of benefits and employee on-line.Provide assistance for new employee information such as taxes, medical benefits and retirement options. Review submitted forms for accuracy and completion.Provide assistance for Workers Comp claim processing. Other responsibilities may include attending Safety meetings, securing light duty assignments and distributing periodic information to Human Resources and SupervisorsCoordinate property damage insurance claims and some student injury claims in accordance with collective bargaining agreements and in collaboration with the District's Legal Counsel and insurance company.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
High School graduation or equivalent
Two years of increasingly responsible experience in bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, student records or a related field. Related education may be substituted.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Basic skills with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and EXCEL
Must work flexible workdays and hours

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Working Knowledge of Business Plus
Working Knowledge of Synergy

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will constantly stand and walk, bend neck and back, use hands for repetitive grasping and pushing/pulling. The employee is frequently required to squat, kneel, use hands for fine manipulation, knee stand and push/pull. The employee will occasionally be required to sit, climb stairs/ladder, lift and reach overhead, crawl, and lift/carry. The employee must constantly lift/carry up to 5 pounds and must frequently lift /carry up to 10 pounds. The employee will occasionally lift/carry a maximum of 35 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to push/pull a maximum weight of 100 pounds.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and regularly works near video display. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position constantly deals with frequent interruptions, demanding deadlines, and occasionally deals with angry and distraught employees and community members. Must work flexible workdays and hours.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position typically works Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, 260 days per year with 12 holidays per year.
