Educational Assistant 2

Purpose: To support student learning by assisting licensed staff in curriculum/program implementation. Exercises independent judgment to assist in the management of classroom/program operations in a manner consistent with administrative direction, district policies and procedures, and goals of the instructional program. Manages student behavior effectively in accordance with the building behavior policy. Maintains high standards and expectations for students in a manner that encourages independent learning and personal growth.

Hours: 4-6 hours per day (part-time)
Contract Status: Regular/Probationary
FLSA Status: Non-exempt - Classified
Start Date: August 30, 2021
Calendar: 180 Work Days
Rate: $15.98 with benefits (Note: this is the 2020-21 hourly rate, we are currently negotiating 2021-22 rates, TBD)
Retirement Contribution: Corvallis School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. Upon eligibility, the district contributes 6% of an employee's salary to their Individual Account Program (IAP). Eligibility is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.
Notes: There are multiple positions available ranging from 4-6 hours per day. Please indicate in your letter of interest how many hours you are hoping for. Open until filled with earliest review of August 5, 2021.

Minimum Qualifications
  • An associate's (or higher) degree, two years post secondary study, or a passing score on a district approved assessment.Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; including communications to parents under the direction of the general education and special education teacher/service provider. Interest in learning to effectively use other communication systems.Ability to work with challenging behaviors and creatively problem-solve difficult situations while using intervention strategies.Required to provide proof of COVID vaccination.
