There is no industry within the town limits. The community is a pleasant, old New England town characterized by stately colonial homes, tree-shaded streets, and parks with swimming pools, tennis courts, and playgrounds. Settled in 1644, Longmeadow has many historically designated houses, interspersed with attractive newer ones on spacious lots. It is an ideal place to raise a family.
