Qualifications:
1. Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, or a minimum of three (3) years' experience in Benefits Administration, preferably in an education setting.
2. Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
3. Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
4. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of web-based applications and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) software for purposes of sending/receiving email; creating, storing and sharing documents and spreadsheets; and accessing work related information via internet.
5. Excellent work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
6. Valid Pennsylvania drivers' license.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8. Strong customer service orientation: demonstrated ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
9. Such additional or alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may determine appropriate and acceptable.
Summary
The Benefits Administrator is responsible for administering all aspects of the District's employee benefit programs, including health and welfare (i.e., medical, dental, life, and vision, and wellness), income protection, Family and Medical Leave (FMLA), unemployment compensation (UC) and workers compensation. In addition to disseminating benefits information to employees in a variety of formats, including written and electronic correspondence, the incumbent consults with individuals and groups to address specific benefit issues and concerns. S/he works with the Executive Director of Human Resources to implement or enhance plan designs and policies within the District's operational goals and guidelines.
