Position Purpose: The purpose of this position is to provide academic, social, and emotional instruction aimed toward the development of the whole child in order for them to be college and career ready.
Essential Functions:
- Creates and implements Tier I, II, and III interventions for general and special education students
- Planning and participating in planning placement team (PPT) meetings to develop and implement IEPs
- Manages professional assistants including schedule creation and modeling instruction
- Collaborates with various grade level, professional learning, and data teams
- Manages behaviors using the Positive Behavior Intervention Support model (PBIS)
- Creates materials and differentiated lessons for a variety of learners through content, process, and product
- Communicates effectively and regularly with parents by means of newsletters, notes, conferences, and other two way forms of communication
- Follows legal procedures regarding bullying and mandated reporting
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and federal and state requirements
- Plans and facilitates personalize learning opportunities that provide students with choice in pace, content, process based on individual strengths, needs, goals, and cultural backgrounds
- Plans daily lessons and assessments that are aligned with unit goals, objectives, and standards pertaining to the ELDS
- Oversee and plan for direct teaching (ABA)
- Complete educational evaluations
- Analyzes data from early childhood assessments
- Candidate should have knowledge of the following :
- Early Learning Development Standards (ELDS)
- Personalized learning
- Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS)
- Project Approach
- The Documentation and Observation for Teaching Systems (DOTS)
- Early Learning Development Standards (ELDS)
- CT certification 112 or 113
- Bachelor's Degree in education
- Master's Degree in education preferred
- 3 successful years teaching experience
