JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Secondary Supervisory Paraeducator
(Lunchroom, study hall, hall monitor or parking lot supervision)
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent
2. Previous experience working with adolescents preferred but not required
3. Post secondary coursework in educational field preferred but not required
4. Skill in behavior management
5. Intuitive to the needs of the student
6. Ability to be flexible in assignment given
7. Ability to use good judgment when unexpected problems arise
JOB GOAL:
Under the direction of certified staff assist in managing student behavior in a positive manner, work with students in supportive role under conditions determined by the certified staff responsible for the students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Any or all of the following duties may apply to a specific special education position, depending on the needs of the student and the operation of the educational setting.
1. Assist in coordinating restroom/media center passes.
2. Work as a member of the supervisory team.
3. Monitor student behavior and enforce rules in accordance with student/parent handbook and district and building policies.
4. Maintain attendance records.
5. Report to an administrator any significant problems encountered with students creating a disruption in the building.
6. Conform to expectations within the negotiated agreement for Educational Associates.
7. Other duties as assigned.
Note: This position is at-will and, as such, this employee is subject to termination upon determination by the district.
