Mathematics Intervention Specialist Qualifications:
1. B.S. or B.A. - Elementary Education
2. Valid and current Pennsylvania Level II preferred teaching certifications in Elementary/ Secondary Education.
3. Math specialist degree is not required but proven math results and or continued math specialization is highly recommended.
4. At least five years of teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.
5. Has in-depth and specific knowledge in content, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
6. Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
7. Satisfactory work record and criminal/child abuse clearances (Act 34, 114, and 151).
Summary:
Provides job embedded professional development for classroom teachers in planning, delivering, and improving mathematics instruction; assists in gathering, analyzing and utilizing data to improve student achievement in all student groups; assesses and analyzes individual student assessment data; designs and implements mathematics interventions; oversees mathematics activities, projects and programs in the school/s; works with identified students in small group instruction.
