DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Distinguishing Features of the Class: Involves performing specialized work in the design, development and implementation of computer applications as well as local area network operating systems in a suburban school district. Expertise is required in installing, customizing and maintaining vendor supplied operating systems and application software for Local and Wide Area Networks.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributes to the successful implementation of the District's Technology Plan.
- Manages District Office Inventory; (server rooms, switch closets and user workstations). Works with other Technicians on building inventory and coordinates roll outs of new equipment.
- Coordinates recycling and disposition of equipment across the district.
- Basic trouble shooting of devices (Chromebooks, iPads, Laptops, Desktops and printers)
- Resolves hardware and software problems with end users both remotely and on-site.
- Warranty repairs of devices, submission of insurance forms and follow through.
- Provides support documentation for team members and training
- Answers Technology Helpdesk, enters/ updates work orders.
- Acts as liaison between buildings and District office.
- Provides coverage in buildings when needed
- Works independently and as a team.
- Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as directed by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in computer programming which included, at least, one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; OR
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two (2) or four (4)year college or university with an Associate's degree in Data Processing, Computer Science, or Business Administration, or related field and four (4) years of data processing experience, two (2) years of which, included computer programming, and at least, one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; OR
- Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and six (6) years of data processing experience, two (2) years of which, included computer programming, and at least one (1) year of experience in programming and/or maintenance of vendor supplied operating software; OR
- An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of 1, 2, and 3.
