Our Finance team plays a crucial role in maintaining fiscal integrity and fidelity of all financial records. We are searching for a full-time Payroll Specialists to join the team. The person in this role is responsible for ensuring the accurate processing and recording of payroll information, providing accurate, timely financial information. Our ideal candidate has outstanding work ethic with an interest in ensuring smooth payroll processing as our business grows.

Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist:
  • Lead all aspects of processes related to daily payroll department operations, make recommendations for improvement
  • Protect pay details for all employees ensuring that this information is only shared securely and confidentially as needed
  • Work independently and across departments to make sure we are aligned with local, state, and federal law, conducting 401(k) audits and payroll audits with various states when appropriate
  • Reconcile payroll prior to processing and validate confirmed reports within deadline
  • Reconcile 401(k) and other benefits as well as quarterly payroll with 941's and 940's
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting as needed (W-2, W-2c, etc.)
  • Maintain and manage the Workday timesheets portal, review work hours submitted
  • Prepare reports related to payroll and benefits, meeting compliance standards
  • Prepare payroll journal entries for the financial general ledger in Netsuite


Basic Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist:
  • 2-4 years' experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Proven proficiency in Excel
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and problem solving in your approach to troubleshooting


Preferred Qualifications of the Payroll Specialist:
  • Associate's degree in Business or Accounting
  • Experience using payroll systems (Workday a plus)
  • Strong organization and task management skills
  • Thrives in a team environment
  • Possess good business savvy
  • Learns quickly, willing to take on new challenges
