POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director (Lawson Operations Support) is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for the Infor product suite in the cloud including Lawson S3 V10 and Human Capital Management (HCM) Global Human Resources (GHR). The Assistant Director will be the visionary leader responsible for ensuring the team is providing consistent system stability, exceptional customer service and successful implementation of objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Understands the District's business process needs, culture and the process flow (or intersection) between various functioning departments
  • Participates in strategic cross-functional management discussion to strategically enhance and align IT applications
  • Evaluates new applications and system software products/enhancements; assesses functionality by comparing to existing applications to further improve the efficiency, performance and reliability of the production environment.
  • Develops, tracks and maintains key performance indicators to measure team success aligned with division and district goals
  • Manages team processes, monitor metrics and make continuous improvements to elevate team efficiency
  • Ensures that applications meet business requirements and system goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve systems issues
  • Leads and provides analysis, oversight and technical direction of solution designs
  • Provides application management, vendor management, and technology leadership across the application portfolio, business units and schools, while communicating and resolving issues and risks
  • Remains abreast of developments and best practices in the information technology field
  • Creates and maintains proper documentation for all systems and installations; establishes processes, procedures and standard operation procedures as necessary
  • Supports the integrations with the Infor product suite and major downstream applications
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to research, recommend, plan and deploy enhancements and provide operations support of human resources and finance applications
  • Responsible for team technology, staffing and standards utilizing qualitative and quantitative data
  • Maintains a general working knowledge of Infor Lawson V10 and GHR applications as well as other applications in the portfolio including system capabilities, enhancements, customers, interfaces, data quality and security protocols
  • Ensures systems meet division standards and industry best practices including development, installation, hardware, back-up, security and lifecycle tracking
  • Ensures the proper level of cross training occurs
  • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator
  • Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated


Requirements :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in business, management information systems, information technology, computer science or a related field required

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification a plus
  • ITIL certification a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • 8 years of information technology (IT) experience required
  • 2 years of work experience managing direct reports
  • Demonstrated experience with Infor Lawson S3 or HCM GHR platforms
  • Demonstrated experience managing cloud based applications, web based solutions and web programming

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of Infor Lawson S3 or HCM GHR platforms
  • Ability to manage cloud based applications, web based solutions and web programming
  • Ability to work with and manage vendor relationships
  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles, tools and various methodologies
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture best practices
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and practices
  • Ability to project manage cross functional teams
  • Ability to work under pressure, adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to effectively manage, coach and mentor technical staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, in writing and verbal
  • Self-motivated, proactive, action-oriented, results-driven
  • Ability to be flexible, adapting quickly in a fast moving environment that supports students and schools
  • Ability to be a service-oriented, strong team player with proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally

Compensation :

Salary Grade: 133

Salary Range: FY'20 APS Salary Schedule (All Positions)
