Essential Functions:

Delivers specialized instruction to students as recommended by their IEPs. This will include a combination of self-contained classes, pull-out services, and push-in services.

Consults with staff in order to ensure all necessary accommodations and modifications are implemented as required by students' IEPs.

Manages, instructs, and oversees Para educators who are assigned to work with students both in the self-contained and general education settings.

Conducts assessments, testing and diagnostic examinations of students for the purpose of identifying learning issues, social-behavioral needs and recommending courses of action or corrective procedures to overcome issues and maximize learning.

Participates in PPTs and assists in developing Individual Educational Plans IEPs for students.

Works with team members to complete Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans. Collects data on behavior, performs fidelity checks, and revises plans as appropriate.

Assists students and teaching staff in implementing students' IEPs and behavior management plans

Coordinates with outside agencies, organizations and institutions, including state and federal authorities as needed.

Coordinates with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs.

Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships with members of institutions of higher learning and the business community.

Works collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
