We are currently looking for a Student Support Team Manager (LSSP, LCSW or LMSW) to join our Dallas - North location. If the following opportunity sounds like the right fit for you, please apply.

Primary Purpose:
To address the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of students especially

learning needs, learning loss, social and behavioral challenges, and intervention supports.
Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
  • Valid Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners - Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license
    or
  • Valid Texas State Board of Examiners in Psychology - Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP)
    or
  • Valid Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners - Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW)
    license *Must be in pursuit of the LCSW*
  • Experience in working with multidisciplinary teams, including school-based teams
  • Two years' experience working with adolescent youth, preferably in a school setting


Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary team environments
  • School-based case management and coordination
  • School-based consultation and conferencing with administrators, teachers, parents, and students
  • School-based suicide and crisis intervention and management
  • School-based Multi-Tired Systems of Support (MTSS)
  • Safe and Supportive Schools Program (SB-11) and Behavioral Threat Assessment Teams
  • Special education, referral process, due process rights, functional behavioral interventions, and behavior intervention plans
  • Community outreach and outside agency referral coordination
  • Individual and small group therapy counseling
  • Applicable federal, state, and local laws, guidelines and procedures, including special education
  • Dropout prevention and education programs and services
  • Organizational, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
  • Computer and software application skills including personal computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), social media, etc.
  • Awareness and sensitivity to the impact of diversity issues as related to student achievement and mental and behavioral health
  • Data collection and report writing


Experience:
  • Two years' experience providing school psychological services and or school-based social work services in an educational setting


Major Responsibilities:
  • Manage the campus Student Support Team implementation and the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) process and referrals
  • Manage the implementation of the campus behavioral threat assessment team including, assessments, interventions, and notifications of parents and or law enforcement
  • Oversee provision of Tier II supports for students who are experiencing difficulties that impede benefiting from instruction
  • Implement a process for crisis and suicide intervention response and intervention
  • Provide a continuum of mental and behavioral health supports, including individual and group supportive guidance, positive behavioral supports, and parent education
  • Consult with students, staff, and parents to assist in developing individual instructional strategies or mental and behavioral health services for students
  • Provide education and prevention seminars for students and staff such as: healthy relationships, alcohol and drug abuse, teen parenting, trauma and grief, domestic and dating violence, etc.
  • Establish and maintain community-linked health and behavioral health partnerships
  • Facilitate referrals to community mental, health, and social agencies to address psychosocial needs of students
  • Facilitate implementation of school climate programs and positive behavior and intervention supports (PBIS)
  • Collect data and develop monthly Student Support Team report for student referrals and social services
  • Utilize the Student Management System (SMS) to document services and referrals
  • Facilitate the school social work program and placement of social work interns
  • Provide weekly face to face supervision for university social work interns
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with students, parents, teachers, and administrators
  • Remain knowledgeable about ethical and professional standards, and legal regulations
  • Attend professional development training to improve skills related to job responsibilities and continuing education requirements for license
  • Perform other duties as assigned
