Amplify is seeking an experienced education leader who has designed and delivered professional development for school- and district-wide audiences, led programmatic change, and managed senior-level relationships across a school or network of schools. The Manager of Professional Development Partnerships will lead professional development partnerships across a region or regions, supporting school partners with implementing Amplify Science and managing and coaching a regional cohort of Professional Learning Specialists.

Regional professional development management responsibilities include: collaborating with school, district, and/or state partners to develop, evolve, and expand their professional development strategy and plans; coordinating and ensuring strong execution of professional learning engagements in collaboration with internal teams and at times, select external partners; synthesizing and reviewing professional development data; hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching of Professional Learning Specialists; leading and collaborating on team and operational initiatives to ensure smooth execution of PD; and delivery of professional development to educators as needed. The ultimate goal of this work is to support high-quality science instruction in classrooms and the successful expansion of Amplify Science. This Manager of Professional Development Partnerships position will initially focus on supporting Amplify's partners in the Southeast.

Responsibilities of the Manager, Professional Development Partnerships:

Customer-facing Partnership Management Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with school, district, and state partners implementing Amplify Science and guide them in developing, evolving, and expanding their PD strategy and plans
  • Lead customer calls to clarify and refine PD plan based on districts' needs; learn school- or district-specific context that may influence the PD; and ensure the assigned Professional Learning Specialist is prepared to deliver against this plan
  • Review and synthesize relevant data, including professional development surveys and program data, to support customer conversations and PD planning
  • Travel to schools and districts across the nation to deliver services and build strong academic relationships, consistent with Amplify's then current travel policy

PD Design & Operations Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including Sales, Implementation, and Educational Partnership Managers, from pre-sale through post-sale stages in order to ensure PD planning and delivery are seamless and support the expansion of Amplify products
  • Facilitate and participate in regional meetings with Sales and other internal teams to report on the status of district implementations
  • Lead and collaborate on team-wide operational initiatives to support smooth, efficient delivery of PD, as needed and assigned by manager
  • Maintain current information regarding status of a school or district's implementation for internal and external reporting and manage delivery reports of scheduled and outstanding PD sessions
  • Ensure PD plans for Science customers are delivered within budget and that revenue is recognized appropriately
  • Work collaboratively with the PD Development team to write, review and create professional development and teacher materials
  • Collaborate with Product and other internal teams to share feedback from the field and relevant updates with Professional Learning Specialists

Professional Learning Specialist Support
  • Forecast hiring needs for new Professional Learning Specialists and conduct hiring - reviewing resumes, interviewing, and crafting tasks for potential hires.
  • Onboard and support the ongoing development of Professional Learning Specialists, developing and delivering internal trainings (remote and/or onsite) related to our Amplify Science PD offerings and general PD facilitation best practices
  • Collaborate with Science PD team to design scalable, cost-effective certification pathways for new sessions and/or program components, communicate program updates ongoing to Professional Learning Specialists, and lead internal meetings and trainings
  • Develop and maintain budget related to onboarding and internal training
  • Supervise a region or group of PL Specialists, reviewing their performance based on survey data and providing continued coaching as needed
  • Collaborate with PD Operations and use Salesforce scheduling data to ensure appropriate assignments for PL Specialists

Basic Qualifications of the Manager, Professional Development Partnerships, Science:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of K-8 classroom teaching experience
  • Experience (at scale) designing and delivering professional development sessions and helping educators adopt new practices.
  • Experience developing and managing large-scale projects in an education setting, including creating detailed plans, forecasting and meeting deadlines, and maintaining a budget.
  • Ability to analyze PD session data as well as district-level implementation data to inform practice and next steps.
  • Experience with hiring, onboarding, and managing teams of people.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of technology integration in workshops and in the classroom
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of technology-based productivity tools such as Microsoft, Google Applications, etc...)
  • Ability to travel regionally and nationally (per travel policy)

Preferred Qualifications of the Manager, Professional Development Partnerships, Science:
  • Experience as an Instructional Leader and/or Curriculum Developer across a district or network of schools
  • Biliteracy a plus (Spanish)
  • Experience delivering science PD at Amplify
