    Founded in 2001, LEARN is a network of high-performing college preparatory, tuition-free public elementary and middle schools with the mission of providing children with the academic foundation and ambition to earn a college degree. There are 11 LEARN Schools serving 4,100 students in grades PK-8 across Chicago, Waukegan, North Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

    PURPOSE

    The responsibilities of the Operations Coordinator will include student enrollment support, campus technology, compliance reporting, and coordination of operational services provided through LEARN's Charter Management Organization (CMO).

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    As the Operations Coordinator , your critical tasks will include:

    Facilities Operations
    • Coordinate Emergency Plans in collaboration with OSSE, the Department of Defense, and both D.C. and Joint Base Anacostia Bolling fire and law enforcement.
    • Direct maintenance of Health and Safety protocols to ensure that facilities are safe, clean, organized, and well-maintained; establish and implement preventive and scheduled maintenance plans in compliance with OSSE and CDC guidance;
    • Plan and direct procurement, maintenance and replacement of classroom furniture, furnishings and major supplies of student materials; coordinating as applicable with LEARN CMO for economies of scale and standardization of LEARN brand.
    • Supports the technology installation and infrastructure needs of the campus to ensure optimal educational technology integration for our staff and scholars.
    Campus Support and Access
    • Coordinates student recruitment and directly engage with families both on and off base.
    • Coordinates installation access (DBIDs Cards/escorted access) for students, parents, staff, guests, and vendors.
    • Directly and indirectly, manage all site-based operations staffs of such as IT technical support, building engineers, security officers, facility custodians, and office management. Covers all vendor-leased staff.
    • Coordinate campus activities such as safety drills, pick-up and drop-off, school outings and other campus-wide teacher, parent or student events.
    Business Management & Compliance
    • Coordinate student data collection, reporting, and compliance
    • Coordinate planning and compliance with all local, state and federal health, safety, occupancy, property and related regulations.
    • Coordinate and perform special projects as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education, Training and/or Experience

    This job is a great fit if:

    Physical Demands

    Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment, and to conduct in-person property inspections that may entail movement via stairs, ladders or construction type vehicles. Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collect, compile and prepare work documents, set-up and maintain work files. Some day and overnight travel by car and air as required. Some travel may be required to Network headquarters in Chicago.

    Working Conditions

    Majority of work performed in a general office or K-8 school environment. Some work may occur in mechanical equipment areas, or outside landscapes Position requires availability for extended hours plus non-traditional hours required to perform job duties. May require participation and attendance at organization sponsored events and meetings.
