POSITION SUMMARY:

The Signature Program Specialist directs the day to day functions of the program is to ensure campus staff are meeting the education requirements of the program. This position is responsible for implementing the objectives of the program, including the management of staff, professional development and teaching practices. The Program Specialist is a master teacher who serves in the capacity of a site-based instructional coach specializing in the program. The Signature Program Specialist continuously provides leadership and expertise at the local school in the development, implementation and coordination of programs. Supports improvement of teacher instruction and depth of implementation of instructional models through a focus on teacher training in the use of teaching techniques, tools, strategies and assessments. This position reports to the School Principal and will be assigned to be physically present in the school building location.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensures overall fidelity of implementation of programs (site-based Comprehensive School Reform model) via continuous monitoring, engagement with stakeholders, model lessons, professional learning communities, and classroom observations
  • Uses observation and achievement data to identify professional development needs and to ensure that the school staff is trained in planning, reflection, teaching and assessment methodologies through locally created in-service workshops; works with stakeholders to fund adequate ongoing regional training for the staff.
  • Monitors student progress and works with teacher teams and specialists to design and implement appropriate academic interventions based on formative and summative assessments.
  • Engages with all school internal and external stakeholders to educate them on the elements of the reform model on an ongoing basis.
  • Serves on the schools instructional leadership team, reports directly to the Principal on all matters, and works to maintain a school-wide focus on program elements.
  • Develops prioritized budgets, requisitions, orders, and tracks the entire purchasing process from start to finish for the schools training and material needs.
  • Provides input to school scheduling, including the master schedule, collaborative planning schedule, professional development schedule, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate supervisor.


Requirements :

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree in Education

CERTIFICATION:

Must hold or be able to obtain a Georgia PSC approved certification.

EXPERIENCE:

3 years of successful teaching experience required. Teaching experience in an STEM program is preferred.

Compensation :

Salary Grade: T4 to T7

Salary Range: APS Salary Schedules
