E ssential Functions and Objectives:

T his position supports the Manager- Accounts Payable, other accounting departments and outside suppliers. Position requires understanding of Sox Compliance, Best Practice and IRS Regulation. Functions include (but are not limited to) supporting the organization by providing analysis, reporting, monitoring, solutions to support and improve departmental financial and operational performance and maintenance and training of the Accounts Payable policies/procedures.

T he department has two Analysts positions. Duties will be segregated as noted below. However, the supervisor has the ability to transfer duties between the analyst roles. These roles may be required to assist each other and assume the other analyst responsibilities in case of an absence.

- Communicate AP related processes and status to external and internal suppliers written and verbally.

- Provide training (informal and formal) to AP employees and assists team with work assignments.

- Provide training to schools and departments on AP processes.

- Resolve escalated or identified complex issues through root cause analysis.

- Assist in Processes and projects as assigned by Supervisor.

- Document process and procedures, implement process improvements and retain documentation as required.

- Develop and maintain Financial Services Organization Policies and Procedures.

- Create and upload employee reimbursements into payroll system.

- Assist with managing month end closing processes.

- Assume responsibilities of the Account Payable Supervisor during an absence.

- Maintains both the integrity and confidentiality of all data, research and analysis, as directed.

- Maintain Vendor Master file.

- Approve new vendors into Lawson.

- Verify vendor information in Supplier Portal and IRS system.

- Perform and assist with yearly 1099's.

- Perform and assist with Great Colorado Payback.

- Reconciliation of departments visa and maintenance of departments budget.

- Approval of PO requisition for the departments.

- Review of weekly reports prior to check and ACH run.

- Reconcile weekly reports after check and ACH run.

- Backup of processing weekly check and ACH run.

- Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Five (5) years of Accounts Payable experience required.

- Strong analytical skills with familiarity with accounting, financial analysis and reporting.

- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally.

- Ability to work with people at all levels within the District and the community.

- Ability to identify and implement improved processes.

- Strong research skills.

- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

- Superior customer service and customer support.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

- Demonstrated proficiency with other Microsoft Office/Google Suite products (Power Point, Word, Outlook).

- Self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities.

- Attention to detail and accuracy.

- Passion for and experience in Continuous Improvement.

Education Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or Finance; or equivalent experience.
