Essential Functions and Objectives:

T he Community Engagement Specialist is central to supporting and strengthening the link between community-based organizations, businesses, faith communities, philanthropic groups to schools, communities and families. Support the systems driven approach to case management for the multi-generation services offered to families out of the Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Centers in Southwest and Far Northeast Denver.

- Work collaboratively with FACE staff to implement research based systems to serve families with high quality customer service and individualized supports for family and student success.

- Support program data entry for FACE Center services and participants. Serve as a FACE Center team member, providing program support for multi-generation services for adults and youth with engagement in long-term sustainable employment and other individualized services.

- Support systems for quality control aligned with grant compliance for FACE Center data collection and operations. Support daily operations and program support of the FACE Center, including daily phone calls and responding to voicemails. Assisting walk-in participants and scheduling appointments. Lead basic needs services for FACE Center participants.

- Serve as case manager of FACE Center participants. Follow systems and structures to ensure participants have access to post-secondary education or long-term employment.

Support participant caseload for case management of follow-up services to ensure FACE Center participant and family success in achieving self-sufficiency goals. Perform daily data collection and program implementation for FACE Center participants.

- Complete FACE Center intake, follow up and satisfaction survey processes with participants.

- Lead special events or new project initiatives to maximize center capacity and to further engage participants in services.

- Meet regularly with FACE Center team to engage in professional development and to support with best practices on engagement of participants. Engage in skills training across the department to ensure quality control and efficiency when working with grant driven programs.

- Employ knowledge of cultural competencies, encourage and accommodate a variety of learning and participation styles, building on staff and community members' strengths. Draw upon the experiences of participants or collaborators to include diverse perspectives in any given intervention. Positively collaborate with FACE Center staff members to ensure high-quality delivery of services.

- Work collaboratively between FACE Centers supporting the implementation of researched based systems across the FACE Centers to ensure high quality programming throughout Denver. Support the ongoing expansion of services offered at the FACE Centers. Lead outreach within regional communities and collaborate with other FACE staff to increase awareness of services offered at the FACE Centers.

- Other duties as assigned; Be available to serve some weekend and evening events.

K nowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- Three (3) or more years of related experience.

- A minimum of three (3) years experience working in communities with at-risk youth and/or case management, experience specifically with WIOA.

- Bilingual preferred.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as Google Suite.

- Exceptional organization and time management skills.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

- Ability to complete tasks in an interruption driven environment.

- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances with a positive attitude.

- Ability to communicate diplomatically, persuasively, effective oral, written and presentation skills.

- Self-starter/leader who can anticipate department needs in a proactive (versus, reactive) manner.

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to lead a high-performing team.

- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multicultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.

- Ability to set goals, work independently and drive results.
