The Staffing Specialist assists with the daily operations of the Talent Management department. This position is responsible for supporting both the Executive Director, Staffing Director(s) and/or Staffing Administrator in meeting talent management team goals. The Staffing Specialist exhibits excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively on a team. Additionally, this position serves as a reviewer of all hiring, transfer, and separation actions for an assigned group of locations. The position is grant-funded for at least two years, with excellent internal growth opportunities.
Essential Duties
Requirements :
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: PHR or SPHR a plus
WORK EXPERIENCE: 3+ years equivalent work experience in a relevant field preferred; Experience in staffing preferred, Experience in an Urban School District preferred, Deep knowledge of best practices in HR
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; customer service oriented; organized; mental agility that results in well thought out, timely, and effective decision making; teamwork; flexibility; analytical skills; Microsoft Office

Essential Duties
- Facilitates APS initial onboarding program for new and rehired employees.
- Coordinates and schedules new hires and rehires for onboarding and orientation programs.
- Supports the work of the Staffing Director and/or Staffing Administrator in ensuring great customer service throughout offer, onboarding, and placement.
- Issues offer letters and manages the completion of pre hire forms for new hires and rehires.
- Completes personnel actions related to, but not limited to, staff hires, re-hires, transfers, separations and salary changes.
- Manages credentialing, screening, and communication associated with pending offers.
- Partners with HR Services to ensure that customer service level agreements are met which result in a positive, timely, and complete onboarding process.
- Problem solves any employee issues that may occur related to all personnel actions.
- Completes all pre-hire activities to ensure timely and accurate onboarding experience.
- Ensures the personnel file is updated with new and relevant information when appropriate.
- Provides completed action forms and supporting documentation to HR Services.
- Submits E-verify and GA new Hire report, checks I-9 documentation, and sends other correspondence as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
- required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.
