Instructor-English as a Second Language
The Adult Education Department of Atlanta Public Schools is currently accepting applications for an hourly ESOL instructor. This position will provide instruction to none or low-English speaking adults working to improve their English language competency levels in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening.
In addition candidates must have experience in planning, organizing, and coordinating work; ability to complete detailed paperwork; ability to interact with employees, students and the general public in a tactful and courteous manner; effective written and oral communication skills; flexible, responsible, efficient and enthusiastic.

Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree or above, preferably with a focus on education. Candidates should have an in-depth knowledge of the subject and possess a strong interest in teaching ESOL.
A background in adult or k-12 education, preferably in ESOL is desired. The ability to accommodate different learning styles with sensitivity to diverse cultures is required.
Experience: 2-3 Years working with ESL population
Compensation :
Hourly Rate: $22.00
Not to exceed 29 hours per week

- Effectively prepares for and instructs class as assigned following predefined curriculum.
- Maintains a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Must be computer literate and willing to use a variety of instructional methods and techniques.
- Participates in staff development training sessions as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned in the fulfillment of the needs, philosophy, and purpose of the Atlanta Public Schools Adult Education Program.
