Elementary Social Studies Curriculum Specialist for the 2021-22 SY

Elementary (K-6) Social Studies Curriculum Specialist (1.0 FTE) for the 2021-22 SY. This position is full time, school year plus two additional work days beyond the teacher contract.

Salary: $52,919-$104,599 depending upon education and experience, plus $5,1115 resource stipend.

Qualifications: Must be eligible for State of CT certification. Certification in social studies preferred.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Specialists provide effective curriculum planning and instructional support to teachers aimed at ensuring that students learn core content knowledge and skills as well as the competencies and dispositions essential for success in college, career readiness, and citizenship as described in FPS's Vision of the Global Citizen. Curriculum Specialists develop and monitor curriculum and assessment implementation. They work closely with school principals and leadership teams to plan and provide professional learning experiences that are responsive to teacher needs and focused on school goals and priorities. Working as a vital member of a learning organization, specialists develop positive and productive relationships with colleagues, parents, and students ensuring equitable access to opportunity. They remain current in their knowledge of emerging educational research and effective practice. As educators, they demonstrate all aspects of CT's Code of Professional Responsibility.

The Social Studies Curriculum Specialist is supervised and evaluated by the Director of Curriculum.
