Title VI Paraprofessional
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent required
· Working knowledge and competency in reading, math, English, and
related academic subjects
· 48 college credit hours or successful completion of the required Basic
Skills Test
· Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
· Ability to work effectively with students, staff, parents, and the public
· Basic computer knowledge and experience
Reports To: Building Principal and District Title VI Coordinator
Supervises: None
Job Goal: Assist in instructional support of Title VI students by serving as an
assistant to the teacher to meet the needs of the Title VI students in the
regular classroom. Provide input to the teachers and aide in assessing
Title VI students' performance. Modify lessons under the teacher's
direction for student success.
Performance Responsibilities:
· Works with assigned Title VI students in the regular classroom under the direction of
the supervising teacher.
· Provides alternative instruction/tutoring and extra help to Title VI students as needed
under the direction of the supervising teacher and Title VI staff.
· Serves as liaison between parents of Title VI students and the school.
· Provide additional support to Title VI students to increase academic achievement
and promote graduation by assisting with the removal of barriers that impede
student success.
· Assists with the attendance tracking and reporting of assigned students
· Monitors assigned students grades and works with stakeholders to address specific
student needs
· Assists Title VI staff as assigned to ensure a successful Title VI program.
· Assists Title VI staff in collecting data to demonstrate student success.
· Keeps daily tutor log of student performance.
· Maintains records as required by the Title VI program.
· Performs such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Responsibility:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions may require the following physical demands: Generally the job requires 45% sitting, 25% walking, and 30% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and minimal hazardous conditions.
Terms of Employment: Designated by Notice of Assignment
Clearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
Evaluation: The building Principal or Title VI Coordinator shall evaluate this position.
