The Project Specialist is responsible for performing duties that will assist the Principal in daily operation of Pittsburgh Grandview PreK-5. The Project Specialist will work in tandem with the principal, counselor, teachers, and other staff to lead the implementation of projects and initiatives focused primarily on supporting a positive school culture that advances student learning and parent engagement at Pittsburgh Grandview PreK-5.

Qualifications :
-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
-Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred
-Experience with restorative practice and PBIS preferred
-Experience working with families preferred
-Possess strong word processing skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher.
-Strong organizational, communication both oral and written, and interpersonal skills required.
-Ability to exercise independent judgment in analyzing and resolving problems quickly.
-Ability to work productively on a team.
-Ability to be flexible and to respond in a timely manner to the needs of district wide personnel is required.
Residency Requirements : City of Pittsburgh Residency Required
Essential Job Functions :
1. Develop a relationship with the families and parents of Pittsburgh Grandview students, staff, parents, and community members
2. Anticipate and meet the needs of parents
3. Conduct home visits as part of the school-based team, and provide additional off-site supports to parents as needed
4. Serve as advocate for parents going through the psychological evaluation process led by the school psychologist and counselor
5. Utilize feedback from parent, student, teacher, and community surveys as a mechanism for continuous improvement
6. Support management of the daily operations of Pittsburgh Grandview
7. Function as the Pittsburgh Grandview lead on student transportation
8. Function as the Pittsburgh Grandview lead on parent volunteers, including conducting on-site training for all parent volunteers while working alongside the FACE Coordinator as needed
9. Support implementation of restorative practices, including conducting restorative circles and peer mediation as appropriate
10. Lead activities with students during lunch and recess
11. Lead workshops for parents on ways that they can be involved in a school setting
12. Lead workshops for Pittsburgh Grandview staff on how to increase parental engagement in their classes
13. Attend key meetings and training sessions as assigned by the Principal
14. Assist in managing all forms of communication to the Grandview staff, parents, and community partners (district website, Facebook page, Talking Points, Class DoJo), including establishing systems that will allow two-way communication between all parents/families
15. Supports PBIS and Restorative Practices
16. Additional duties as assigned by the Principal
