POSITION SUMMARY
• The Digital Learning Specialist - Science, provides leadership and 21st Century technology integration and training aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence, and National Educational Technology Standards that will directly affect instruction and improve student achievement; collaborates with various district and school based teams, coordinators, Superintendent, Associate Superintendents, Executive Directors, Directors, Principals, Instructional Coaches, teachers, and others as needed to gain district buy-in for all technology integration projects and resources.
• Someone at this level is self-motivated, learns quickly, innovative, able to foster and retain internal and external relationships, and forward thinking.
• Reports to the Executive Director of Instructional Technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Collaborates with various district and school based teams, coordinators, Superintendent, AssociateSuperintendents, Executive Directors, Directors, Principals, Instructional Coaches, teachers, and others as needed to gain district buy-in for all technology integration projects and resources in an effort to help students develop and enhance their technology, language, reading, writing, speaking, researching and listening skills.
• Uses standard criteria for selecting and publishing quality "ready-made" activities and resources that are aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence.
• Procures/develops digital activities/resources that follow the Georgia Standards of Excellence scope and sequence.
• Develops and provides face-to-face and online professional development for teachers, media specialists, educational technology coaches and to enhance teachers' content knowledge and pedagogy through the effective integration of technology and digital activities and resources into the curriculum.
• Reviews and researches 21st Century technology standards and integrates cutting edge technologies, differentiated learning strategies and methodologies into digital content delivery.
• Coordinates, plans and develops frequent classroom video conferencing activities to include global classroom-to- classroom connections and "bring-in-the-expert" opportunities to provide and extend academic and career readiness.
• Organizes and publishes digital resources and activities on the APS Portal for teachers, students, and parents.
• Develops curriculum-specific interactive digital resources and activities for students and their families, extending teaching and learning beyond the traditional school day.
• Participates on committees and task forces.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
• Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated

Requirements :

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:
? Master's degree required in one of the following areas: Education Administration, Educational/Instructional Technology, Curriculum and Instruction or Science.
? Educational Specialist's degree preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
? Possess Georgia Professional Standards Commission Certification Level 5 (L5) GaPSC Certification or higher in leadership and applicable T5 certification in Science or Media Specialist Certification (S5).

WORK EXPERIENCE:
? 5 years of demonstrated successful classroom teaching experience.
? 3 years successful leadership experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
? Strong knowledge in the content (Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies) coupled with
innovative instructional technology practices.
? Ability to work with content coordinators to successfully integrate technology into the
curriculum.
? Ability to coordinate and implement multiple Instructional Technology projects simultaneously.
? Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
? Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
? Optimistic, energetic and passionate.
? Must have strong instructional technology and strong oral and written communication skills.
? Responsible for orienting and training others.

Compensation :

Salary Grade: 133

Salary Range: FY'21 APS Salary Schedule (All Positions)
