The Chicago Public School's Department of Arts Education (DAE) works to ensure that every CPS student receives a high-quality arts education by creating conditions at the classroom, school, district, and state level that allow the arts to grow and flourish. The Arts Technology Part-Time/Seasonal Employee will provide coordination and support to departmental staff, DAE Student Programs teachers and students, and district arts teachers in their use of technology platforms, software, and devices. This part-time, hourly position will report to the Manager of Arts Curriculum.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The Chicago Public School's Department of Arts Education (DAE) works to ensure that every CPS student receives a high-quality arts education by creating conditions at the classroom, school, district, and state level that allow the arts to grow and flourish. The Arts Technology Part-Time/Seasonal Employee will provide coordination and support to departmental staff, DAE Student Programs teachers and students, and district arts teachers in their use of technology platforms, software, and devices. This part-time, hourly position will report to the Manager of Arts Curriculum.
T he Arts Technology Part-Time/Seasonal Employee will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:
- Manage and support DAE-owned technology devices and equipment:
- Manage, inventory, and maintain devices, including a maintenance schedule, warranty services, software licenses, and supply inventory.
- Oversee device distribution, training, and collection
- Provide tech support for Student Programs special events
- Help staff and teachers resolve student technology issues
- Work collaboratively with the CPS Information Technology Department to assign and manage centrally-provided instructional technology user licenses to arts teachers and students at schools across the district
- Identify, document, troubleshoot and resolve technology problems, or contact appropriate personnel/resources to resolve issues when necessary.
In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Arts Technology Part-Time/Seasonal Employee must possess the following qualifications:
Type of Education Required:
- High School diploma required.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in arts, education, technology, or related field preferred.
Type of Experience Required:
- At least two years of professional experience in arts, education, or technology required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Capacity to design easily understood and repeatable systems for maintaining the organization and integrity of technical equipment and related resources.
- Understanding of Mobile Device Management systems like Jamf and Google Admin Console are desired.
- Ability to articulate and communicate complex technology concepts effectively in non-technical terms to users.
- Knowledge and understanding of best practices and applicable technologies related to teaching and learning in the arts is a benefit.
