Pittsburgh Public Schools employs over 4,000 individuals in various capacities to support the academic achievement and strength of character of the students we serve. The Data Systems Integration Team within the Information Technology Department is responsible for the data integration of the district's current application portfolios and new technology projects.

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of Data Systems Integrations and the Senior Student Information Systems Administrator the Student Support Services System Administrator is responsible for the support and maintenance of data systems and training of end users within the student services departments.

The Student Support Services System Administrator will work closely with the Student Services department to ensure that technology solutions within the department are meeting departmental needs. Additionally this position will support the Senior Student Information Systems Administrator in ensuring that the data captured in the student information system meets the needs of the student services department and associated regulatory requirements. The position works collaboratively with end users and Information Technology department team members to ensure that existing technology solutions meet the business needs and requirements of the Student Services department.

Qualifications :
Candidates must be enthusiastic about the fundamental goal of advancing student achievement in an urban public school district. Candidates must be comfortable working on a team committed to better meeting the needs of our student population by working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure that system integrations are meeting the needs of end users.

In addition, we are seeking candidates with:

- Bachelor?s degree in field of information technology, or a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in educational information technology.

- Experience working in K-12 urban education, with a solid understanding of the application of educational technology in a classroom environment is preferred.

- Ability to quickly establish credibility among team members (direct reports, peers, executive leadership), cultivate relationships, work independently and collaboratively as a team player, under pressure with multiple competing deadlines, and with culturally, educationally, and racially diverse internal and external customers.

- Experience designing and delivering professional development.

- Strong analytical and research skills including the ability to research a topic and present findings and recommendations in a well-articulated presentation to management.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical issues and challenges in non-technical language, including risks, opportunities, costs, and tradeoffs.

- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, (Jira preferred).?

Essential Job Functions :
- Lead and support the maintenance and support of District approved system integrations and new technology projects within the Student Services department.

- Serve as the IT liaison to the Student Services department in the purchase, implementation, training, and end-user engagement related to the relevant data systems.

- Collaborate with Student Services staff to understand priorities that may impact the policies and process embedded in the District?s data systems

- Work with 3rd party vendors, consultants, and external partners to understand how process and software updates may affect operations within the Student Services department.

- Serve as technical liaison between the Student Services department and the Data Research Evaluation and Assessment (DREA) team for reporting and analytics requests.

- Document all service/project requests rendered within the OIT issue tracking system, Jira.

- Facilitates cross functional team meetings as needed.

- All other duties as assigned.
