The Intervention Specialist provides in-person and virtual one-on-one and small group behavioral support and intervention for students in grades K-12. The Intervention Specialist will conduct and write functional behavior assessments, write goals, and develop behavior intervention plans for students.

Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Provide in-person and virtual one-on-one or small group behavior support and intervention for students in grades K-12.
  • Conduct and write functional behavior assessments to determine student eligibility for school-based behavior services.
  • Writes, implements, and tracks progress of IEP goals and behavior intervention plans.
  • Regularly track data on behavior goals, complete accurate Medicaid billing, and log service time using the related services manager.
  • Attend IEP meetings as needed and effectively communicate results of assessments and progress on goals.
  • Effectively and promptly communicate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Conducts parent, student, and teacher training related to behavioral services.
  • Participates in meetings, training, professional development, etc. as part of the special program's staff.
  • Proctors site-based and/or remote standardized testing (this might mean traveling away from your home base depending on testing needs).
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field AND at least one year’s experience working with the developmental disability population.
  • 3 years education experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to pass required background check.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for communicating effectively.
  • Great organizational and time management skills
  • Working knowledge of special education and related services.
  • Experience with Medicaid billing.
  • Online school experience.
