Schedule: Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 3:30pm

Our classroom structure is designed to match students' needs. Through an interdisciplinary approach, an individual plan is designed for each student. Under the supervision of the School Principal you will plan and implement therapeutic instructional programsand provide students withtheemotional behavioral support to meet their individual educational needs.

Located on a beautiful 10-acre campus in the heart of Scottsdale, Devereux Arizona's 24-hour RTC and Therapeutic School, has the capacity to serve 52 children. The RTC is a safe and supportive environment that provides youth, from the ages of 5 to 17, who are experiencing emotional, behavioral or substance abuse challenges. We also provide an on-site accredited K-12 therapeutic school, which offers an academic curriculum while students receive intensive behavioral and emotional support.

Qualifications

EDUCATION (required):

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field
  • Arizona elementary and/or secondary teacher certification

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum one (1) year teaching experience
  • Experience with teaching kids from K-12

OTHER:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License Or Identification
  • Pre-employment Physical and Physical Abilities Test (if applicable)
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Ability to attend Full Time (paid) New Hire Orientation Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Frequent use of computers and office equipment. Normal hearing and vision. Ability to lift 20 - 45 pounds to physically intervene with clients per Crisis Prevention Intervention techniques. From the starting point of hire and every 12 months thereafter, will receive an annual physical and TB test showing evidence you are able to perform your job and free from infectious pulmonary tuberculosis.
