Technology Technician 1
A Technology Technician 1 supports and maintains both administrative and instructional technology-related resources. Such resources include computers, instructional software, projectors, printers, etc. Technicians provide on-site assistance in places such as classrooms, media centers, computer labs and administrative offices. Technicians must be able to exercise critical thinking skills in the field and implement solutions to resolve problems users report via the work order system. The Technicians are the Technology Support department's first-level of support as it relates to general technology problems reported by the district's endusers. Regarding physical requirements of the job, technicians are expected to be mobile as they are traveling between schools on a regular basis; while on campuses, they may be required to travel between various areas of the school campus. Technicians are expected to interact with endusers in a positive manner which may require verbal communication or listening to individuals. Due to the nature of typical technology equipment repair work, technicians are expected to perform work with their hands and fingers using tools appropriate to the task in question. Technicians can be required to stand and reach with their hands and arms to pick up or transport technology equipment; they may also be required to squat/bend down or crawl under furniture. Technicians are expected to be able to lift at least 25 lbs. usually in the form of boxed or loose technology equipment.
Job Qualification
Requires high school diploma or GED. Prefers an associate degree in the field of IT; knowledge of IT required.
