As part of the senior cabinet leadership team and reporting to the Superintendent, the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) is a driving force, creating a culture of collaboration and engagement with internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring the values of the organization are in alignment with the established mission and vision. Working with senior school system leaders, the CSO oversees coherence of strategy of key initiatives across all district divisions, ensuring alignment with mission, vision, and strategic plan of the district. Provides collaborative leadership in the development, execution, and support of the district strategic plan and other strategic management efforts (cluster/school planning, change management and communications). Serves as a catalyst of communication and change throughout the organization, shaping and building a motivating culture that fosters recognition in support of the established district goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Supervises, evaluates, and provides support for senior leadership of Partnerships and Development office to promote the creation of streamlined grants development and management processes, expand capacity for resource development to significantly increase external funding, and provide enhanced capacity for management and compliance of all grants by leveraging existing State and Federal systems already established in the district.
- Supervises, evaluates and provides leadership for the Strategy Management and Organizational Change team, including overseeing the strategic planning process, working in conjunction with the leadership across the schools and district, as well as community stakeholders; communicates the strategic plan internally and externally to garner support as well as monitoring the execution within the organization.
- Serves as the champion for the employee experience, recognition, and engagement strategies.
- Supervises, evaluates and provides support for the leadership team focused on the implementation of the charter system operating model and school governance teams.
- Develops strategies to engage internal and external stakeholders across the district within the charter system operating model.
Requirements :
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of public school administrative structures and challenges facing large, diverse, urban school districts.
- Ability to provide leadership in developing and implementing the goals and objectives outlined in the strategic plan, and coordinate the cross-functional, mission critical work of the district.
- Proficient in management, organizational leadership, communications, planning and community engagement, conflict resolution, and problem solving.
- Advanced proficiency and a successful track record in change management, organizational culture, and strategy development.
- Capable of providing strategic organizational leadership in the areas of public relations, community outreach, , and resource development.
- Consistently high levels of dedication, energy and a disposition to address challenges and resolve problems on demand.
- Proven expertise in leading large-scale organizational transformation efforts and developing long-term plans and strategies for both internal and external communication and engagement.
- Ability to plan and implement efficient and effective employee meetings and retreats.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
- Master's degree in business, education, or related field required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
- Educational leadership certificate preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification preferred
- Valid driver's license and availability of private transportation, or the ability to attend off-site meetings
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 10 years of progressively work experience in education or similar large scale organizations, including formulating strategy at the senior management level
- Inclusive of 5 years of systems level leadership experience
- Experience in the area of professional coaching preferred
