Senior Behavior Specialist Overview

SESI's Behavior Support Team is committed to developing, implementing, evaluating, and constantly improving our multi-tiered positive behavioral intervention and support system. Our model, named the CASE approach (the acronym for our behavioral expectations of being considerate, accountable, safe, and engaged), supports the behavioral and social-emotional needs of all SESI students. The Senior Behavior Specialist works closely with the SVP of Behavior Support and other senior SESI leadership to establish, support, and evaluate the implementation of all Behavior Support Team initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Senior Behavior Specialist include (but are not limited to):
  • Developing, revising, and refining SESI's behavioral support systems (in collaboration with the SVP and other Senior Behavior Specialists) based on current, peer-reviewed research, specific areas of expertise, and data indicating areas of need across the company. This includes:
    1. Training materials
    2. Field communications
    3. Data collection and analysis
    4. Quality assurance/fidelity of implementation processes
  • Training (in conjunction with the SVP) Behavior Support Specialists to ensure mastery of and fluency with any new content developed.
  • Collaborating and communicating with other SESI teams (e.g., ACI, Recruiting, Operations) to ensure that Behavioral Support Team initiatives are communicated transparently, align with company goals and values, and complement the work of other teams.
  • Assisting SVP with collaboration and communication with shared services (e.g., IT, Marketing, Research and Evaluation) to ensure that Behavioral Support Team initiatives are communicated transparently, align with company goals and values, and complement the work of other teams.
  • Assisting SVP with content for and delivery of quarterly webinars.
  • Participating in and leading (as appropriate) weekly Behavior Support Team meetings.
  • Coordinating support of all behavioral initiatives (e.g., all tiers of CASE support, crisis prevention, social-emotional learning) with regional and site-based leadership.
  • Coordinating and leading annual in-depth training experiences (in collaboration with Behavior Support Specialists) for regional and site-based CASE point people.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Education/Experience

Required:
  • Masters' degree in relevant field.
  • Experience serving students with challenging behavior (minimum of five years).
  • Experience developing and delivering professional development, coaching staff who are implementing behavioral supports, and supporting staff behavior.
  • Experience with data-based decision making and analyzing data to determine outcomes, evaluate supports, and create progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated behavioral expertise related to positive behavioral interventions and supports, crisis prevention, social emotional learning, mental health, coaching staff, and/or restorative practices.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the four keys to the CASE: being proactive and preventive, being supportive and helpful in all interactions, focusing on what's going well, and building strong relationships with students.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the FullBloom Core Four values: humility, transparency, accountability, and decisiveness.

Preferred:
  • 6+ years of experience serving students with challenging behavior.
  • Leadership experience involving the implementation of behavioral and/or instructional supports.
