Provides the full range of psychological services to schools and centers or to a diagnostic unit; systematically collects, analyzes, synthesizes, and interprets information necessary to guide services such as consultation, counseling, behavioral assessment and intervention planning, and psychological evaluation in the educational setting.

Qualifications:
Possession of a master's degree from an approved program in school psychology, or a program deemed equivalent by the Virginia Department of Education review consisting of 60 graduate semester hours, plus a one-year internship as prescribed by the college awarding the degree. Good knowledge of psychological theory and practice as applied to the behavior and development of children and young adults; ability to apply knowledge to the needs and requirements of a public school system; ability to gain the confidence and cooperation of students, teachers, and parents; ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with other professionals within the school and the community; analytic ability and adaptability to changing needs; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to write comprehensive reports; and ability to interpret findings to parents. Placement in a particular setting or model determined by experience with specific student population.
