POSITION: Computer Services Assistant Director - Network Administrator
START DATE: As soon as possible
LENGTH: 12-month position, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (Monday - Friday)
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: General responsibilities include maintaining software and hardware for daily operations. Will assist the Director with project management and leadership responsibilities. Support network performance and connectivity. Will provide monthly, quarterly, and annual security audits. Monitoring network for potential cyber attacks and security breaches. Educating staff and students on how to protect their digital profiles.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze network traffic to identify anomalies and test the information security controls for weaknesses
- Support VMware environments
- Support and configure Amazon AWS environments
- Support internal and external backup solutions
- Support and design disaster recovery solutions
- Implement new safeguards, whether it is in the form of software, hardware or new procedures
- Network monitoring and intrusion detection analysis
- Take mitigating actions to contain the activity and minimize damage
- Facilitate forensics analysis to determine the source of the threat
- Research emerging threats
- Maintain and support the following security software and servers
- Malware
- Antivirus
- Firewall
- Network Monitoring software
- Phishing campaign
- Internet connectivity
- Develop online cyber security training courses for staff and students
- Create new Active Directory accounts
- Must have basic knowledge of Windows 10 and Mac operating systems
- Must have basic software knowledge
- Microsoft office
- Google apps for education and Microsoft Exchange
- Must have strong troubleshooting skills
- Must be highly organized
- Good communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree required, Four year degree preferred.
- Previous experience in the educational environment is preferred.
