POSITION: Teaching Assistant, RTI
LOCATION: Starpoint High School
CERTIFICATION: NYS Teaching Assistant or NYS Teacher Certification (required)
QUALIFICATIONS:
Skilled in the area of team collaboration and decision making
Demonstrated success in working with students in grades 9-12
Ability to provide leadership with respect to inclusionary practices
DESCRIPTION:
Provide remedial instruction and academic support to students who are at-risk academically and/or social-emotionally due to the pandemic gap as well as other factors
Identify individual student skill deficits and remediate learning loss resulting from the educational disruption caused by the pandemic and strengthen core academic skills for future success in a nurturing environment
Collaborate with content area teachers, student services support personnel, and parents for the purpose of assisting in evaluating needs for and progress of intervention strategies
Position is probationary, pending funding beyond 3 years
