The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees on Jan. 28adopted three calendars for the next two school years, with the majority of schools set to have a traditional calendar. Click the appropriate calendar below to see your campuses schedule for the 2021-2022 School Year:
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.

- Base Calendar
- Intersession Calendar
- School Day Redesign 1
- School Day Redesign 2
- Assist in conducting intensified learning experiences for students in assigned area and relieve certified teacher of various tasks that are primarily non-instructional in nature
- Assist teacher and students in achieving the objectives of the program or activities
- Maintain discipline in the absence of the teacher
- Tutor students individually or in small groups to reinforce and follow-up learning activities
- Help students with their daily work and in finding activities appropriate for their homework
- Review class activities and daily homework
- Supervise class breakfast and lunch activities
- Talk to parents to provide updates on the student's progress, homework, and social behavior
- Distribute informative letters to parents regarding their child's progress
- Assist in filing and organizing materials for record retention and distribution
- Assist in maintaining student records, attendance, and files
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
- Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position

Qualifications
- Accredited Senior High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A. equivalency), plus one of the following: Associate degree, 48 college credit hours, pass an academic assessment
- Paraprofessional certificate required from State Board of Certification
- One year of experience working with children
- Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics
- Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position
- Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions
- Demonstrated effective communication skills both in oral and written form
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world
- Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession
