Description

The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees on Jan. 28adopted three calendars for the next two school years, with the majority of schools set to have a traditional calendar. Click the appropriate calendar below to see your campuses schedule for the 2021-2022 School Year:

  • Base Calendar
  • Intersession Calendar
  • School Day Redesign 1
  • School Day Redesign 2


  • High School Diploma or USA equivalency; Associate Degree or 48 College credit hours or pass an academic assessment; Valid Texas educational aide certificate
  • Six months of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience or successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants is preferred
  • Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics
  • Assists with classroom routines and daily instruction
  • Works with individual children, small or large groups
  • Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.

Qualifications

  • Works full-time in the Pre-Kindergarten program
  • Participates in daily and long-range planning with the classroom teachers and other staff members
  • Assists with classroom routines and daily instruction
  • Works with individual children, small or large groups
  • Assists teachers with all in-school and out-of-school activities such as field trips and outdoor learning experiences
  • Assists with promoting a safe learning environment
  • Participates in periodic assessment of children through team meetings
  • Contributes to instructional activities by utilizing own special talents and abilities
  • Participates in meetings to plan appropriate activities based on the needs of the students
  • Maintains daily logs that reflect work with individual children and small groups
  • Participates in professional and staff development activities
  • Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned
  • Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world
  • Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession
