Elementary Teachers - (Up to 10 positions)
PK-12 Social Worker - (Up to 3 positions)
July 6-August 13, 2021
Hours: Monday - Thursday from 8:15 am - 1:00 pm
The Teacher is a specialist in all aspects of instruction. The teacher provides high-level support and instruction to students.
Please Note: This is a Summer Only position for the Summer of 2021. External Candidates do not have re-call rights for the Summer Teacher positions.
* Teaching positions are based upon enrollment and funding. Teachers with ESL endorsements are preferred. A minimum of 10 students is required to run a course.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Organize and implement structured math instruction,Provide direct service for whole group, small group, and individual instruction based on student needsAdminister and interpret educational assessmentsImplement a range of effective math instruction strategies and interventionsImplement lessons specific to Common Core StandardsDifferentiate instruction by developing, selecting and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all studentsPromote a school atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of all studentsMonitor and evaluate student outcomes maintaining appropriate records and following all required procedures and practicesParticipate fully in a professional community including common planning, professional development, and self-reflection/evaluationSupervise students in a range of settings; protect and promote the safety and well-being of students, colleagues, equipment, materials and facilitiesCommunicate and interact appropriately and professionally with students, colleagues, parents and the communityContinuously develop and evolve teaching practice and support colleagues in their developmentSupport the summer program leadership teamUnderstand, support, and promote the mission and vision of Providence Schools (available at http://www.providenceschools.org/pages/ProvidenceSchools/AboutUs/VisionandMission
Salary Rate Range
$40.00 per hour (Contingent upon funding)
RIDE Requirements
Current/valid RI Teacher Certificate in the appropriate subject area (Elem. KG-1 or Elem. 1-6) (PK-12 Social Worker)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited teacher education programPrior classroom teaching experience in math instruction, especially in an urban setting (preferred)Background and experience in the administration and interpretation of educational assessmentsKnowledge and understanding of Common Core State StandardsExcellent communication skills
