  • Oversee training of football players in conjunction with the other coaches.
  • Develop training plans for football players in conjunction with the other coaches.
  • Assist in overseeing the running of specific events as needed at home games as directed by head coach and Athletic Director.
  • Contribute to game line-up planning with other coaches.
  • Attend and coach at all practices.
  • Attend and coach at all games.
  • Assist other coaches in monitoring team members' practice attendance, school attendance, meet attendance and grades
  • Assist other coaches in enforcing team policies.
  • Responsible for providing student-athletes with feedback about their performance related to disposition, behavior, and team skills.
  • Successful completion of the required WIAA Rules Exam for football by the 2021 fall sports season.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • If no teaching license, ability to complete ASEP coaching certification program within one year of hire
  • Competitive playing experience in football at the high school level.
  • Previous coaching experience with preference to coaches with prior successful experience at the high school level. Demonstrated knowledge of a wide range of contemporary football systems.
  • Commitment to year-around personnel skill enhancement and program improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide positive motivation and development of student-athletes including year-around monitoring of conduct and academic performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain open communication with coaching staff, student athletes, parents, and age group football coaches.
  • Demonstrated knowledge about instructional progressions of football techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze opponent tendencies and to design responsive strategies.
  • Current certification in first aid, with preference for course work in sports-medicine, injury prevention, rehabilitation and cooperation with team or family physicians.
  • Current certification or must obtain within one month of employment and maintain CPR/AED certification from a national certifying organization.
  • Skill in budgeting and supplemental fund raising. Skill in long-range planning for enhancement and maintenance of equipment inventories.
  • Ability to coordinate all levels of competition within the football program.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with and coach a diverse population.
  • Evidence the candidate is knowledgeable of WIAA eligibility standards and is willing to reinforce good sportsmanship and compliance with athletic codes among team members and members of the football coaching staff.
  • Ability to integrate the football program into the total school experience of the student athlete.

WIAA 2021 Fall Sports Season

Working Conditions:
Will be expected to work in evenings and weekends. Will be also be expected to work in various outdoor weather conditions.

Physical Requirements:

The job will require you to stand for extended periods of time, while coaching at practices and games.
