Description
Position at SESI Schools
The School Therapist will provide individual, group, and family services as indicated on the student's IEP. The school therapist works closely with teaching staff to ensure that behavior plans are being followed and that the student is progressing towards their goals and will also provide crisis intervention when needed. The school therapist maintains frequent contact with parents/guardians as well as school district representatives.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Requires a master's degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field and professional licensure either; LSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC. School Social worker endorsement from Illinois School Board of Education and experience working in a therapeutic school preferred.
OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must understand that all children can learn. Must demonstrate positive and enthusiastic attitude towards internal and external customers. Must be flexible. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred. Must be available to work during the summer months.
