Additional Job Information : Minimum Qualifications:
a. Graduation from a regionally accredited or N.Y. State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor?s degree in journalism or public relations; OR
b. Graduation from a regionally accredited of N.Y State registered four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor?s degree and one (1) year of experience in the field of journalism, public relations or community relations in education; OR
c. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and five (5) years of experience in the field of journalism or public relations or community relations in education; OR
d. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a), (b) or (c) above.

- Writes, edits and compiles informational material in the form of pamphlets, reports and periodic bulletins for distribution;
- Writes news releases and submits photographs to newspapers;
- Maintains and updates District Social Media accounts
- Attends school board meetings, assemblies and related events to secure information and work out media coverage;
- Develop and produce, or supervise the development and production of, informative communications, booklets, leaflets and other publications detailing programs and events;
- Coordinate and supervise the preparation of news releases from administrative staff and distribute releases to appropriate media.
