JOB GOAL
The Chief DEI Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing short- and long- term goals that support Harmony's strategic plan, mission, and vision while specifically promoting a climate of equity and inclusion for all.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 3 years of professional or administrative experience
• Experience in campus leadership (preferred)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Understands and supports the mission, vision and values of Harmony Public Schools.
• Consults and facilitates development and implementation of system-wide policies and procedures that create a climate of equity and acceptance that respects, values and responds to the diversity of students, staff, parents, and the community.
• P lan s, organizes , and directs initiatives related to diversity, equity and inclusion
• Provides coordination and assistance to the Harmony Leadership Team on equity and diversity matters related to students, staff, and parents
• Collaborates with district and central office administrators to develop, lead, and implement a systematic process that identifies and addresses inequalities and other experience that create barriers to student engagement and achievement
• Provides leadership in sustaining a culture of equity and inclusion for all students by eliminating the racial d isproportionality between student groups that occupy the highest and lowest achievement ca tegories
• P rovides leadership to increase effectiveness in promoting DEI system- wide
• Develops , organize s, and implements professional development opportunities for central, district, and campus staff with an emphasis on DEI awareness
• Promotes and implements district and campus- based approaches to community access and engagement
• Develops and implements systems and procedures to address the needs of culturally- diverse students, parents, and families.
• Collaborates with Human Resources to develop strategic hirin g and retention efforts to attract and retain a highly talented, diverse workforce.
• Develops communication systems to share best practices across the system.
• Utilizes relevant data resources to track and analyze diversity, equity and inclusion strategies within the district and community
• Supports campus leaders in developing and facilitating a culture of belonging and achievement that are inclusive of diverse perspectives.
• Stays abreast of research and best practice in diversity, equity and inclusion
• Performs other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.
• Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone.
• Ability to analyze data and generate reports.
• Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem- solving skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Light Work: may require the occasional light lifting.
• Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.
• Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.
• Moderate travel is required.
