Description: Pathways Fine Arts/Digital Arts Teacher
Job Summary:
This position is flexible in nature. Teachers can have background in visual arts, music, digital arts, etc., as the program is elective based.
At AACA students are encouraged to learn about and through the arts. Our Arts Pathways program is designed to both expose students to new ways of understanding and exploring the world, while also allowing them to follow their interests. Each trimester fifth through eighth grade students choose two classes from a variety of performing and non-performing visual and media arts, music, and drama arts classes, so that by the end of the year they've had six classes in a variety of disciplines. Each year we require that students take at least one class in visual art, drama, and music- but otherwise students have flexibility in how they shape their learning. We're seeking teaching artists to teach trimester-long arts classes across the disciplines, and are especially seeking artists who have experience with music and media arts.
Qualifications: Applicants need a Bachelor's Degree. Teacher certificate preferred but not required.
