The Dallas ISD Board of Trustees on Jan. 28adopted three calendars for the next two school years, with the majority of schools set to have a traditional calendar. Click the appropriate calendar below to see your campuses schedule for the 2021-2022 School Year:

  • Assist in the development of Computer Assisted Learning techniques and curriculum
  • Assist in the structuring of a classroom environment for learning and for appropriate physical, social, and emotional development of students
  • Assist in the establishment of well defined steps for the student’s acquisition of credits
  • Assist in the establishment of a system for evaluating students to determine mastery of assigned subjects that meet district and state guidelines
  • Assist in the establishments of a system for the inclusion of the family
  • Train students in career development skills, including but not limited to job interview, employee performance, leadership and entrepreneurship concepts, work safety, business management and training, human relationships, and personality development skills
  • Evaluate the grading structure of student jobs and improve the employer and student relationship
  • Develop programs and activities to improve student self-esteem and self confidence
  • Visit work sites regularly to observe assigned students in their work environment to improve their work habits and professional behavior
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the assigned Reconnection Center specialist, or designee
  • Regular and punctual attendance at the worksite is required for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job. A remote working environment /alternate work arrangement is not an option for campus-based employees/campus-based positions because regular and punctual attendance at the worksite and performing all duties at the worksite are essential job duties for all campus-based personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned M
  • Must possess or obtain Vocational Teaching certification within two years of hire
  • Knowledge and skills in communicating with students, parents, professional staff, and employers
  • Ability to understand the unique vocational needs of students
  • Must have own transportation to various community worksites/businesses.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to cope with the challenges of a rapidly changing world.
  • Demonstrated willingness to remain current with the latest developments in the profession.
