JOB GOALS:
- With guidance from the Director of Leadership Development, support the design and implementation of the Leadership Development program in Providence Public Schools.Coordinate the implementation of leadership development activities for current and future school leadersCollaborate with district leadership to develop and align on leadership development strategy and implementation approachOrganize, manage, and amend the existing grant award to ensure efficient spending to support grant funded goals and activities.Ensure alignment of the work with district turnaround action plan goals and priorities.

The individual in this role will work with new and current school leaders to operationalize our vision of leadership by developing instructional expertise, management, and personal leadership skills to be successful.

Roles & Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director of Leadership Development and other Senior Staff the Coordinator will support Leadership Development priorities in the following ways:
Coordinate the implementation of leadership development activities for current and future school leaders
- Ensure all programmatic activities described in the district's federal teacher and school leader incentive grant are appropriately developed and completedCollaborate with Leadership team, Network, and Central Office staff to ensure leadership development activities reflect district priorities and the theory of action for school leadership ? Publicize regular grant bulletins and updates that keep all staff aware of grant activities ? Other duties as assigned.
Lead coordination of internal project management cadences and structures for all leadership development work
- Develop an internal project management and implement a process for reporting progressEngage in regular communication with project managers/coordinators to discuss project progressMonitor spend-down reports for the federal grant and ensure leadership is aware of the project budget in collaboration with district staff, plan, prepare, and submit grant amendments necessary to fully expand grant funds and meet project goalsSubmit or support the submission of final project reports that meet the requirements and deadlines of the granterOther duties as assigned.
- Support the attainment and development of various Turnaround Action Plan initiatives, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Leadership Development and other Senior StaffEnsure all projects associated with leadership development align with the Turnaround Action Plan and other district initiatives
Salary Rate Range
$64,305 - $77,169
Salary commensurate with experience
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in education or social sciencesThree (3) years of project management or leadership development experience, or equivalent experience
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a teacher, school leader or other school staff member preferredAbility to track, analyze, and find patterns in performance data to uncover trends and act strategically and effectively to improve resultsAbility to communicate compelling feedback that motivates leaders, develops instruction and accelerates student achievementEngage in courageous conversationsOutstanding interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate, and attain and grow effective partnerships to meet common goalsStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write concisely and appropriately for a wide variety of audiences;Experience with project and/or grant management, including oversight of program implementation and expenditures, preferredAbility to work independently and without oversight by effectively managing time and prioritizing projects to ensure timely completionAbility to work effectively and efficiently on multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentUnder supervision, ability to design and be accountable for appropriate and accurate budgeting for complex, multi-year, multi-million dollar initiativesSophisticated knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and web-based interfaces for the purposes of writing, budgeting, and researchWork well in multicultural teams and with diverse constituencies.Self-motivated, work will under pressure and be able to handle several projects at one time.Good judgment, a sense of humor, and ability to work independently and with teams.Positive attitude and willingness to work effectively in a collaborative environment with executive staff, Teaching and Learning staff, school-based administrators, teachers, and community members to pursue funding opportunitiesStrong sense of accountability and responsibility for results Bachelor's Degree in education or social sciencesExperience and comfort with web-based research, including the review and utilization of academic research in persuasive writingPlan and lead staff training workshops related to grant writing and fund-raisingYou must complete the new hire compliance training prior to your first day of employmentBilingual PreferredSelected candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment criminal history background check.
