POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor'sdegreefroman accreditedcollegeor university.
• Meet Texas“highlyqualified"standards.
• TexasTeacherCertificateappropriateforleveland subjectareaof assignment (requiredforESL/Bilingual, SPED and preferredforothersubjects ).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan a programof studythat,asmuch as possible,meets theindividual needs,interests,andabilities of the students.
• Create a classroomenvironmentthat is conducivetolearningand appropriateto the maturity and interestsof the students.
• Prepare lessonsthatreflectaccommodationsfor individualdifferences.
• Prepare forclassesassignedandshow writtenevidenceof preparationuponrequestof immediate supervisor.
• Encourage studentstosetand maintain standardsof classroombehavior.
• Guide the learning processtowardtheachievementof curriculumgoalsand,in harmony withthegoals,establishclear objectivesforalllessons,units,projects,andthe like to communicate theseobjectivesto thestudents.
• Employ avarietyof instructionaltechniquesandinstructionalmedia consistentwiththephysicallimitations of thelocation provided,and theneedsand capabilities of the individualsor studentgroupsinvolved.
• Striveto implement, by instructionandaction,the district'sphilosophyof educationandinstructionalgoals and objectives.
• Assesstheaccomplishmentsof thestudentsona regularbasisand provideprogressreportsasrequired.
• Referstudentsforevaluationbydistrictspecialistsasrequired.
• Take necessaryandreasonableprecautionstoprotectthestudents,equipment,materials, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate,complete,and correctrecordsasrequiredbylaw,districtpolicy,andadministrativeregulations.
• Assisttheadministration in implementing all policies andrulesgoverningstudentlife and conduct.
• Develop reasonablerulesof classroombehavior.Maintain orderin the classroomina fairand justmanner.
• Make provisionsforbeingavailable to thestudentsandto the parentsforeducation-relatedpurposeswhenrequired.
• Plan and supervisepurposefulassignmentsforteacheraide(s)andvolunteer(s)and,cooperativelywithdepartment heads,evaluatetheir job performance.
• Maintain and improve professionalcompetence.
• Participate in districtandcampus staff development.
• Attendstaff meetingsandserveonstaff committees.
• Maintain a professionalrelationshipwithcolleagues.
• Establish and maintain open lines of communication withstudents,parents,andcommunity members.
• Prepare and submit lessonplansin a timely manner in the platformthe schoolutilizes.
• Maintain a minimum number of gradesinthe Gradebookin a timely manner.
• Meet thementor teacherregularly(if new teacher)
• Performotherduties asassigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Abilityto communicate effectivelyinbothwrittenandoralformswithalllevels of management, bothinternaland external to the district.
• Abilityto establishand maintain effectiveworkingrelationshipsbothinternaland externalto the district.
• Abilityto organizespecialprogramsforassignedcampus.
• Abilityto usecomputer including software,databaseusedbythedistrict,spreadsheetandwordprocessingsoftware, calculator,copymachineand telephone.
• Abilityto analyzedata
• Abilityto useeffectiveinterview techniques,effectivepublicspeakingskills,and problem-solvingskills

WORK ENVIRONMENT ANDPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Light Work: may requireoccasionallight lifting.
• Nights and weekendactivitieswillbeoccasionallyrequired.
• Position is in classroomsettingand requiresintermittent speaking, standing,walkingandwriting.
• Moderate travelis required.
